Former Russian wrestler and current member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Alexander Karelin, has publicly expressed his support for the military aggression against Ukraine.

In an interview with a Russian news outlet, Karelin stated that he believed the actions taken by the Russian government were justified and necessary for the country's security.
