Belarusian Judo Federation's Secretary General, Ruslan Sharapau, has been accused of actively participating in the intimidation of Belarusian athletes who expressed their civic positions openly. Along with other officials, including Mikhail Partny and Yury Rybak, Ruslan Sharapau visited athletes to put pressure and intimidate them. As a result, Andrei Krauchanka and Stsiapan Papou were injured. These threats and pressures severely violate human rights and undermine any democratic values.
This incident is just one of many examples of the Belarusian government's suppression of dissent and violation of human rights. The international community continues to call for an end to such actions and for the respect of basic human rights and democratic values.
