Russian Table Tennis Federation President Alexander Babakov has come under fire for supporting the annexation of Ukraine's territories. Babakov, who is also a State Duma deputy, reportedly voted for the annexation of the temporarily occupied regions of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, and Donetsk Oblasts.

This move is in violation of international law and has been widely condemned by the international community.
